Writing Article Guidance for AL-ISHLAH Journal

 

Editor policies

Writing Article for AL-ISHLAH: Jurnal Pendidikan is published four times a year, every March, June, September, and December, containing papers/articles about the ideas and the research written by experts, educators,  practitioners, and reviewers in the education, learning, teaching in study

General requirements:

  1. The length of the article is between 4000 to 7000 words (including bibliography, notes, and tables).
  2. Attach a statement that the article has not been published yet in any other publication and in any forms.
  3. Each article will be given test of plagiarism.
  4. The article consists of 9 components:

The sections in the article does not use chapters (except for the research result and the discussion), but the indicators that the components or sections in the article stated can be seen at the first sentence in the first paragraph.

The article is delivered using the following components:

Title: Maximum 15 words. The font used is Palatino Linotype, 14, in the left, and bold. (Title is written in English)

The writer’s name: The writer’s name is written under the title using font Palatino Linotype, 10, bold, without titles, and cannot be shortened.  The institution name and the email address of the writer are written under authors name.

Abstract: Abstract should be written in a single paragraph (150–250 words) and include five key elements: a brief background that explains the context or problem being studied, a clear statement of the research purpose or objective, a concise description of the methods used (including participants, instruments, or procedures), a summary of the main findings or results, and a concluding statement that highlights the significance, implications, or contributions of the study. The abstract should be concise, factual, written in formal academic language, and should not include references, citations, or overly detailed explanations.

Keywords: Maximum 5 words/phrase

Introduction: An introduction should clearly establish the background and importance of the research topic, drawing on relevant literature to show what is already known. It should then identify the research gap or problem that has not yet been adequately addressed, leading to a clear statement of the research purpose or objectives. The introduction may also present the research questions or hypotheses and briefly indicate the scope of the study. Finally, it should highlight the significance or contribution of the research to theory, practice, or future studies. The introduction must be logically organized, concise, and written in a formal academic tone, providing a strong foundation for the rest of the article. [font Palatino Linotype, 10, Normal]

Method: The method section should clearly describe how the research was conducted, including the research design, participants or data sources, instruments or materials used, and the procedures for data collection and analysis. It must provide enough detail so that the study can be replicated by other researchers, while remaining concise and focused. The description should be written objectively and in a formal academic tone, explaining each step in a logical sequence. [font Palatino Linotype, 10, Normal]

Findings and Discussion: The findings and discussion section should present the results of the study clearly and logically, using tables, figures, or descriptive statements as needed to highlight key patterns or outcomes. The findings should be directly linked to the research questions or objectives, followed by a discussion that interprets their meaning in relation to existing theories or previous research. This section should explain the significance of the results, why they matter, and how they contribute to the broader field, while also acknowledging any limitations. The writing should be analytical rather than merely descriptive, demonstrating how the findings advance understanding of the topic. [Palatino Linotype, 10, Normal]

Conclusion: The conclusion should briefly summarize the main findings of the study and clearly state how they address the research purpose or questions. It should highlight the theoretical or practical implications of the research, explain its contribution to the field, and, if relevant, offer recommendations for practice or policy. The conclusion may also suggest directions for future research based on the study’s limitations. It should be concise, focused, and written without introducing new data or arguments. References: The reference section should list all sources cited in the text, formatted consistently according to the required style (APA 7th edition). Use accurate and complete information for each entry, including author, year, title, journal name, volume, issue, pages, and DOI if available. Prioritize recent and reputable scholarly sources to support the credibility of the article.

 

 

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
